How it works
Styri runs on the robot (or any Linux machine on its network) and serves a web page. Any phone on the same Wi-Fi opens it in the browser.
Step 1: Start Styri on the robot
$ docker run --rm --network host ghcr.io/styri-dev/styri-core:v0.3.1If your robot uses a ROS_DOMAIN_ID other than 0, add -e ROS_DOMAIN_ID=<id>.
Step 2: Find the robot's address
On the robot, run hostname -I and note the first address, for example 192.168.1.40.
Step 3: Open it on your phone
On a phone connected to the same network, open http://192.168.1.40:8080 (your address). Add it to your home screen for one-tap access: in Safari, Share → Add to Home Screen; in Chrome on Android, the menu → Add to Home screen.
What you'll see
- One verdict for the robot: OK, WARNING or FAULT, with the reason (or NO DATA if the robot stops sending)
- Battery, voltage, CPU temperature and any fields you add, in large type
- LIVE on each value, or STALE with how long ago it last updated
Styri Core is read-only: it subscribes to your topics and never publishes to the robot.
If the page doesn't load
- Phone and robot must be on the same network (guest Wi-Fi is often isolated)
- Type
http://, nothttps:// - On iPhone, if the browser asks to find and connect to devices on your local network, allow it. If you said no before, turn it on in Settings, under the browser’s name, Local Network
- Check the site firewall allows TCP port 8080 from the Wi-Fi
